2023 Capeverdean Recognition Parade in New Bedford MA (PHOTOS)

New Bedford, MA - The Capeverdean Recognition Parade held in New Bedford yesterday brought the city's streets to life with a colorful display of culture, entertainment, and community unity. The event, which took place on July 1, featured a diverse array of cultural groups, renowned artists, political leaders, and enthusiastic spectators.

Under clear skies and warm weather, the parade showcased the vibrant traditions and rich heritage of the Capeverdean culture. There were also local groups that are not traditionally capeverdean, like YWCA, North Start, Girls Scouts, Coalition for Social Justice, New Bedford Festival Theater, but joined the parade to make it even more memorable

Spectators were treated to an extravaganza of music, dance, and artistic performances, all celebrating the unique cultural identity of Cape Verde.
