8 years of MPD municipal governance were marked by enormous sacrifices from the population
Today is Municipality Day, a day to congratulate the men and women who throughout history have contributed to the development of our island. At a time when the world was buffeted by a pandemic that decimated many lives in the country and in the diaspora, the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde stands in solidarity with the Bravense people in the face of the economic and social consequences of such a dramatic pandemic crisis. Together we will overcome this less good phase of our humanity and we will continue determined to fight for the development of our island and our country, united in building a better world.
DEAR BRAVENS
.
Unfortunately, in recent years, the history of our island has been marked by setbacks.
.
These 8 years of municipal governance by the MPD were marked by enormous sacrifices by the population, especially the young population, a fact that led to the outbreak of various demonstrations on the island and beyond, aimed at the conditions in which the population lives: without employment, without income, without transport, without energy and without water, in an economy that does not grow and is not very dynamic, with high levels of migration given the lack of alternatives on the island. Young people were discarded, in an erratic management by the municipality that never creased and whose results put Brava in last place in terms of relative economic growth in the country.
.
This is the portrait of a poorly governed island, banned from bewilderment by an autarchy with no projects and no vision of development, which does not inspire confidence in the population and does not give hope to our young people.
.
Therefore, assuming its responsibility as the largest opposition party, imbued with the history that places the PAICV in a top position in the transformation of the island of Brava and of our country, we will present in the next municipal elections a serious, dynamic and competent team, capable of catapulting the island to a level of development with more social cohesion, more economic growth, more jobs and income for young people and families.
.
United, we will restore hope to young people and develop the island, honoring our history and fulfilling the wishes of the population that calls for development, so that next year, with the same splendor as always, we can celebrate the festivities of the Municipality and the patron saint of the Island, Saint John the Baptist.
.
Brava deserves it!
.
The Brave people deserve it!
