According to information collected by Inforpress, the plane arrived at Nelson Mandela International Airport in Praia in the early hours of this Friday, 23rd, coming from Dakar.

According to an AAC document, dated February 21, 2024, to which Inforpress had access, the aircraft with the aforementioned registration number (6V ASN) is authorized to operate until the month of May, only for the Praia, Sal, São Vicente itineraries and Boa Vista.

Since May 2021, BestFly, an Angolan company, has been granted a concession for the public inter-island air transport service in Cape Verde with the departure of Binter from the Cape Verdean domestic market.
At the moment, Bestfly operates with a single plane that has suffered frequent breakdowns, leaving passengers on the ground, and according to the same source the aircraft will leave the country for maintenance in a European country.

Meanwhile, information is circulating that the company Bestfly will actually stop operating in Cape Verde, and that a company delegation from Angola is already in the country to negotiate with the Government.

Inforpress contacted the Administration of TACV Cabo Verde Airlines to find out the date of the start of operations with the plane “rented” from the company Air Senegal, but did not obtain any information.

On the Government's part, the Ministry of Transport's communications department told the Cabo Verdean News Agency that next week the Government will be presenting the solution for internal transport.

This Thursday, the 22nd, the Government was the target of a question in Parliament about connectivity, with the Minister of Transport, Carlos Santos, recognizing that inter-island transport, although in a better situation than before, is not at a good stage .
