The national phase selected the three best works from each country, totaling 131 participants from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste. The twenty-four best productions advanced to the international stage, where an international jury awarded the first three places.

The award ceremony took place on July 19th, during the XXIX Ordinary Meeting of the CPLP Council of Ministers in São Tomé and Príncipe, celebrating the talent and creativity of young writers from the Portuguese-speaking community.
