Fogo/Brava: MpD deputy praises decentralization of the police service with the creation of seven service stations

The deputy of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) Filipe Santos highlighted, “as a gain, the decentralization of the services of the National Police (PN) with the creation of seven service stations in the Fogo/Brava region.

After visiting the premises of the PN Regional Command to find out about the security situation in the region, as part of the preparation of the debate with the Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, on the security sector, Filipe Santos said that the creation of the posts inserts in proximity policing.

The debate is scheduled for the first parliamentary session in January, at the request of the PAICV Parliamentary Group.

For the MpD parliamentarian for the Fogo constituency, the creation of service stations, equipped and computerized, aims to decentralize and bring services closer to targets and citizens in general, also highlighting informative visits to households, mediation and negotiation conflict management, gathering new information and patrolling.

Filipe Santos, in a press conference, in addition to highlighting the Government's attention to creating conditions for the police institution, by making available the necessary resources to combat violence and crime, said that the Regional Command of the PN has done "an excellent job ” in favor of security and internal work for the dignity of the class.

“The current situation of the Regional Command compared to the situation that was found six years ago is far better and with significant records in productivity, among which I can highlight the decrease in criminal records in the order of 48 percent (%)” , said the deputy, recalling that to facilitate mobility the Government has provided this institution, in recent years, with 15 operational vehicles.

He also referred to the work to modernize the building, both in physical terms and in furniture, ensuring "a better working environment", also underlining the availability of two new boats for patrolling things and which has contributed to combating crime in the area. hunting turtles and rescuing some ships that were adrift.

The MpD deputy also referred to the equipment that the police force has received from the Government, noting that the Regional Command was awarded with 15 more troops.
