The information was provided to Inforpress today by the commander of the PN station, Deputy Commissioner Aldino Silva, who guaranteed that the Brava Police Station (EPB) will be reinforced by a contingent from Ilha do Fogo.
According to the same source, the plan for the festive period is already underway and is part of the Police Unit's annual activities.
“The objective of the National Police is to guarantee order and security so that the parties can take place normally, and this institution is creating all the conditions for the activities to take place calmly”, he assured.
However, he appealed for the collaboration of civil society, event promoters and all public and private institutions, for the success of the plan.
Regarding the inspection of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, the commander assured that they are intensifying control, with daily operations in all locations and establishments.
“Operations will be daily from the Port of Furna, searches and searches in public places open to the public and we will reinforce road traffic surveillance due to the greater circulation of vehicles”, said the commander, reinforcing that the reinforcement requested from the Regional Command do Fogo will be on the island even before the day of the high point of the activities, to join the EPB elements, and guarantee security during the festive season.
The police officer highlighted that although control at the entrances and places where events are held is the responsibility of the promoters, he nevertheless assured that the PN will be present to control the entry of minors to the dances and monitor the alcohol law, as well as the noise pollution law.
“Since the end of the month, Ilha Brava has experienced a festive atmosphere, with the opening of stalls and with it a large movement of people, which will increase from this weekend onwards, with the arrival of emigrants to the municipality and nationals residing in other islands”, he concluded.
