Pawtucket City, Dec 15 (Bravanews) - The company Liga Africa was awarded an award by the Red Carpet Awards, recognizing its contribution to the promotion and preservation of Cape Verdean music.
Mineral Spring, Pawtucket City-based Liga Africa received the Red Carpet Awards for its 24 years working to promote and preserve Creole music.
The award was given to its owner Jack de Pina on December 7th at the annual Red Carpet Awards Gala held in the City of Brockton, in the United States of America.
In conversation with Bravanews, Jack de Pina said he was not expecting this recognition, as he understands that “I have been doing what I like and have a passion for, music, its promotion and preservation”.
“Anyway, I thank you for organizing the event, and I dedicate the award to all those who over these 24 years have helped to keep this company alive and functioning, in favor of music in Cape Verde”, he said.
The 2nd edition of the Red Carpet Awards also recognized the mythical Armando de Pina, as well as several other artists from Brava or from Brava.
