MR. VICE PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF FINANCE, In supreme respect for the Cape Verdean people, resign!

For some time now, only a few traces of the consideration he had for you still remained! I've always tried to give him some benefit of the doubt about his clumsy conduct as a leader in the portfolios he oversees. I was critical of him and dared to draw his attention many times. Especially in dossiers that, due to express negligence, did a lot of damage to the country! Especially in the transport sector. I recall the disastrous projects -and highly harmful to the country- by CVAIRLINES/TACV and CVINTERILHAS!

MR. VICE PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF FINANCE, In supreme respect for the Cape Verdean people, resign!

DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF FINANCE,

Out of supreme respect for the Cape Verdean people, resign!

In all of them with the Lord at the top of the decision!

But in these last few days, with the shameful scandal of the Inspection Reports on the Tourism and Environment Funds, there is nothing left to justify having the slightest confidence in its actions and decisions.

Let's see!

An analysis and thorough reflection on his conduct reveals that for a year and three months he had in his exclusive possession two inspection reports to the Tourism and Environment Fund which proved that there were serious management irregularities, large sums illegally granted to authorities that did not used them, a misappropriation of nearly a million euros still unaccounted for, absurd direct adjustments, amounts diverted from the initial request, double payments and a constant pattern of misappropriation of funds and much more. By keeping these reports under his direct control, in absolute silence, I understand that, voluntarily or not, he has become an obvious accomplice of those who are in charge of their management. Please note that I reject the attitude of inaction because the facts found in the reports were subject to energetic and immediate criminal action as soon as they came into your hands, according to the competent order of the Inspector General before the reports

of the team of inspectors.

The Lord, instead of acting firmly and promptly, through the judicial channels, chose not to ratify the reports in the hope that -possibly- like other delicate dossiers badly handled, everything would end up being forgotten.

As much as he wants to get rid of this embarrassing scandal, the Lord is now a direct part of it! As an accomplice and cover-up.

Were it not for a courageous weekly newspaper from this Capital to go after this heartbreaking event, otherwise we would never know clearly about these reports.

The Lord can no longer escape, politically, from this embarrassing episode!! He seriously mortgaged, as a result of his inaction and complicit cover-up, his permanence in the Executive.

It became politically unsustainable to continue in the functions he now holds. As much or more than the managers of these funds. With this attitude of his he can no longer continue as the guardian of the Public Treasury. Voluntarily did not want to make use of the powers and attributions entrusted to it by law.

Should we ask you what else are you, as Minister of Finance, hiding from our eyes??

Given your current connection to this political scandal, have the courage and manliness to resign.

You will do Cape Verde a great favour!

Manuel Rosa
