Brava is small in size, but big in its contribution to the world Nazareno - Superintendent
The superintendent of the Southern District of the Church of the Nazarene, David Araújo, said today in Brava that the island is small in size but big in contribution to the Nazarene world and beyond.

David Araújo, who was speaking to journalists at the end of a three-day visit to the island, stressed that every year they go around the islands in contact with the congregations.
On this year's regular visit, the superintendent was accompanied by a delegation from the Church of the Nazarene, made up of leaders from various departments, to have contact with the congregations and local authorities.
"We had a meeting with the deputy mayor and our work is primarily spiritual, but the Church is very engaged in terms of social ministry. Our entourage includes the president of the Nazarene Solidarity League and what we want is to be able to help in the area of education," he stressed.
The superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene also emphasized that the work of the Church in Cape Verde began in Brava and that they had as references both the work in Brava, which he considered to be a milestone in the history of the International Church of the Nazarene.
From there, he pointed out that there was a man very dedicated to the Church, called João Dias, who started the work, and also Eugénio Rosa Duarte who was general superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene.
"On this visit, the plan was also to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new church, but we need more space for our work in the Tomé Barras area and we had some constraints with the equipment from the Town Hall, so we decided to postpone it until later, so it will be another time," he concluded.
