About the Social Diagnosis of Brava Island
About the Social Diagnosis of Brava Island
8 (eight) years at National level and 12 (twelve) at Local level and the result is there for all to see!
There is obvious disapproval of local and national governance, on an island that touches us deeply because its people are part of our essence as a people and as a nation... that is why we need to act!
The poverty exposed by this social diagnosis is nothing more than the externalization of the cry of a people who have suffered for a long time.
We need to view this study as an assessment of the terrible and disastrous choices made by our leaders.
Anyone who thinks or even says that this is a starting point is mistaken, because a ruler cannot, after 12 (twelve) years, say that he is waking up to a problem... it is too serious... it is too grave...
Now is the time to admit mistakes, take responsibility, and from there accept the natural consequences.
It is not at the end of the route that you should look for guides.
Either we had a direction, or we had no direction at all!
Each person will draw their own conclusions, but what is certain is that there are setbacks at unimaginable levels that affect human development, which shows that there are flaws that must be admitted, and only from this point onwards can solutions be sought.
When mistakes are not taken into account, namely when people were not considered an absolute priority, the only conclusion is that people are not taking responsibility for the results of public policies or the total lack thereof.
And absurdly, frightened by the diagnosis, they now promise short-term solutions, now... 2 (two) months before the elections. Is this really serious?
Now? on the eve of an election that aims to evaluate the 4 (four) years?
Now, having this clear notion of the failure of public policies, it is expected that there will be effective alternation because if at the end of 12 (twelve) years this is the picture of the island that was governed, there is clear social disapproval of the policies of the Governments, Local and National.
Just as there is a lack of awareness of the serious failures that led our people to this critical and regrettable state.
Let there be consequences and accountability!
