Closing the agenda focused on Tourism, a meeting with the Chamber that represents the sector and then with the economic operators of Sal, an island that is in a frank recovery of tourism, after the damage caused by the Pandemic, and now by the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Tourism and the President of the City Council, the Head of State expressed recognition for the efforts that agents have been making to resume operations, drawing attention to the problem of transport.

"It is the country's absolute priority to resolve the transport problem", so as not to compromise the purposes of diversified tourism with high added value", covering the whole country, said the PR.

On the other hand, he considered it important that there be, at this stage, a strong partnership between the government, local authorities and operators to, in a shared way, find the best solutions to support, in a sustainable way, the sector.

There is also a need to think about a cycle of events to solve the problem of seasonality, warned José Maria Neves, who took good note of the concerns raised, promising the best way forward.

The operators ask for actions that lead to the improvement of the country as a destination, for a higher quality tourism.
