The intense rainfall, which began at the beginning of the week, caused significant damage to local infrastructure, making the only road connecting Fajã D'Água to the rest of the island impassable in several sections. This situation left residents isolated and worried about the lack of access to essential services.

The Mayor of Brava City Council, Francisco Tavares, issued a statement informing that local authorities are mobilized to assess the damage and work on restoring the road as quickly as possible, counting on the Central Government, as it is a national road . Emergency teams and technicians were sent to the affected area to begin cleaning and repair work.

"We are aware of the seriousness of the situation and are working tirelessly to restore access to Fajã D'Água. The safety of our citizens is our number one priority", stated the Mayor.

Until the road is reopened, residents of Fajã D'Água are being advised to remain safe and take all necessary precautions. Additionally, authorities are coordinating the delivery of essential supplies to the community, ensuring that basic needs are met during this period of isolation.

Bad weather persists in the forecast, making repair operations even more challenging. However, local and national authorities are committed to restoring normality as quickly as possible and ensuring the well-being of the inhabitants of Fajã D'Água.

Residents are closely monitoring the developments and look forward to the rapid restoration of the access road, which is crucial for their mobility and quality of life.
