Agreement between the Ministry of Culture and TACV guarantees free travel and transportation of instruments for Cape Verdean artists
Cape Verdean artists will benefit from tax exemptions for musical instruments and up to five free monthly trips with TACV, thanks to a protocol signed with the Ministry of Culture.
A new protocol signed between the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries and TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines will directly benefit the country's artists and cultural groups, promoting their mobility and reducing logistical costs.
The agreement provides for the exemption of taxes on the transportation of musical instruments, as well as the allocation of airline tickets at a reduced rate or free of charge for artists. According to the Minister for Culture and Creative Industries, Augusto Veiga, up to five free airline tickets will be made available per month, valid for both domestic and international flights, depending on the airline's availability, especially outside of the high season.
"The aim is to support Cape Verde's presence at national and international cultural events, while also promoting our flag carrier," said Augusto Veiga.
The initiative was well received by Cape Verde's artistic community, which expressed optimism on social media and in the local press. Many see the protocol as an "asset" for the cultural sector, facilitating the circulation of artists and strengthening Cape Verde's presence on the global cultural scene.
