One of Albert’s most memorable events, which I was honored to attend, was the special event he hosted on August 28, 2019, when he hosted the President of Brava Island in Harwich. Proud of his Cape Verdean roots, Albert took the time to show the President around the city, highlighting Harwich’s commitment to cultural exchange and education. Many dignitaries, including former State Senator Vinny de Macedo, State Representative Tim Whelan, Selectman Larry Ballantine, former State Representative Shirley Gomes, and State Representative Sarah Peake, joined local people of Cape Verdean descent to celebrate this historic occasion.

Albert’s tireless advocacy led to the offering of programs on Cape Verdean history and culture in local Cape Cod high schools, ensuring that future generations understand and appreciate the rich heritage of the Cape Verdean community. His dedication to bringing people together, honoring traditions, and promoting unity will be remembered by all who knew him.

Please keep Albert’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. His legacy will continue to inspire and shape our community for years to come. Rest in peace, Albert – thank you for all you did for Harwich and the Cape Verdean community.
