Brava: Court sentences two individuals to prison terms for the crime of aggravated theft
The Brava District Court today sentenced two individuals to sentences of six years and six years and six months in prison for crimes of aggravated theft.
According to a judicial source, the 17-year-old individual was sentenced to six years and six months in prison, accused of committing five crimes of aggravated theft.
Another young man, aged 18, was sentenced to six years in prison, indicted for committing four crimes of aggravated theft.
The cases date back to mid-April, when, according to a judicial source, the Public Prosecution Service issued an arrest warrant, outside the flagrante delicto.
The National Police in Brava detained these two individuals, both residing in the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte, and in the first judicial interrogation, preventive detention was applied.
It should be noted that in recent days the Court of the Comarca da Brava has already sent three individuals to the civil jail of Fogo, to await trial in preventive detention, suspected of committing crimes of robbery and aggravated theft.
Still on this situation, the population of Nossa Senhora do Monte has sought the press to denounce several cases of insecurity and violence, calling for a more active presence of the police forces in the parish.
