Brava: Goods stay on land – furna fishmongers indignant

The fishmongers from the town of Furna expressed their anger after being informed that they could not ship their cargo to the island of Santiago on the ship that made the connection Brava/Praia.

Deolinda Tavares, a fishmonger who was on the pier, told Inforpress that she placed the order for the shipment of her goods, ordered ice and prepared her fish to be sent to the city of Praia and until this morning no one had told them that the cargo had not would be shipped

The indignation of this fishmonger, as well as the others, is that there is nothing to do with the fish and there will only be a boat, as they confirmed with the first mate of the ship Sotavento, next Tuesday.

“After preparing and preserving our fish, they came to inform us at the gate that Enapor is not allowing the fish to be shipped”, said the fishmonger, unhappy with the decision, as this is the “only livelihood” of several families.

Carla Baptista was another fishmonger who lamented this “lack of consideration and information” on the part of agents from the Cabo Verde Inter Ilhas agency and Enapor services which, according to the fishmonger, “will cost them a lot”.

According to her, the fish will spoil because to get ice they have to recommend it and today they are no longer able to acquire a large amount of ice capable of preserving the entire amount of fish until Tuesday, as they were only advised that it was not possible to ship the cargo by around 11:00 am, when they were already at the Furna pier gate.

Faced with this occurrence, Inforpress tried to find out together with the agents of the company Cabo Verde Inter Ilhas and Enapor the reason for having left the goods on the ground, taking into account the proof of shipment order of the loads, but no one commented.
