ANNOUNCEMENT OF CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY'S CITY HALLS IN THE MpD LISTS.
The MpD began to prepare for the municipal elections in March 2019 with the approval of the Regulation approving the way of choosing candidates for municipal bodies.

In the said Regulation it was established that the MpD competes with its own lists in all municipalities and the way of choosing candidates for the various municipal bodies.
The work of the National Commission for Municipalities designated by the President of the MpD, in May 2019, was carried out in accordance with this Regulation.
The National Political Commission, at its meeting held on June 11, 2020 and based on data from the polls presented by the National Commission for Municipalities, chose the following citizens as candidates for President of Municipal Chambers in the country's 22 municipalities:

The MpD thanks the Mayor of Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Manuel de Pina and the Mayor of Tarrafal de Santiago, José Pedro Soares, for their contribution to strengthening local power in Cape Verde, their work, dedication and commitment in the exercise of their functions.
The MpD thus presents its PCM candidates in the next municipal elections, aware that they will work for the development of local power in Cape Verde, and that they will continue to deserve the trust of Cape Verdeans.
The National Political Commission also decided to shortly hold a Municipal Convention to present the strategy for Municipal Elections, in a different way than usual, taking into account the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 that the country is experiencing.
