The head of the list of the African Independence Party of Cape Verde (PAICV) for the council of Brava asked the people of Brava this Saturday, four years to "humanize" the management of what is public on the island.

Clóvis Silva, who was speaking at the public presentation of the heads of the PAICV list for the local authorities on October 25, assured the people of Brave that the projects that the team has for the island are “concrete” and to be carried out in four years.

In addition, he undertook to carry out “transparent” public management, adding that the team is willing to assume and accept all the criticism that will arise, because, as he explained, the platform will concretely include what they will do.

“We are not going to stick with the philosophy of let's do it, let's look for it, let's encourage it … because let's is no longer working on the island”, said the candidate.

According to him, it is necessary to make clear what will be done in each zone, adding that they will have a “clear and determined attitude” with the health situation on the island, because, he advocated, “as it is, it cannot continue”.

The team, as he said, is made up mostly of people who are not PAICV militants but who believed in the project, with the aim of “combating all the challenges that the island has and bringing about the transformation it deserves”.

Being mayor, for Clóvis Silva “is a mission, it is not a job for anyone, but to commit to people and keep promises”, and, he stressed that his team will “run after” from the first to the last day mandate with the aim of “transforming Brava into an island that produces”.

The president of PAICV, Janira Hopffer Almada, who was present at the event, underlined that the first commitment that the candidate must assume with the island is "to guarantee more and better connections to the island", considering the team to be "committed, competent, committed that wants to carry out its mission and fulfill its commitment to the island.

Also speaking at the event was the candidate for President of the Municipal Assembly, Margarida Fernandes, who said she accepted the challenge because she has always felt committed to Brava and wants to make her contribution, fighting for “equality and opportunity” for all.

In addition to Clóvis Silva (PAICV), Francisco Tavares (MpD) is running for mayor of Brava in the October 25 ballot.
