The Barceló Hotel Group announces its official arrival in Cape Verde, with ambitious plans to invest more than 80 million euros in the acquisition, repositioning and development of new hotels in the country in the coming years.

Barceló's entry into Cape Verde marks an important step in the expansion strategy of the Spanish hotel group, which seeks to strengthen its presence in growing tourist markets in Africa. The country, with its beautiful landscapes, inviting climate and rich culture, offers enormous potential for the development of the hotel sector.

Barceló has already begun its expansion in Cape Verde with the opening, on May 15, of the new Barceló Praia Cape Verde, the company's first hotel in the country. This five-star hotel, located on the famous Praia da Prainha in Praia, capital of the island of Santiago, offers 80 rooms and is just ten minutes from the city's historic center.

Just this week, the hotel chain opened the doors of Occidental Boa Vista Beach, a 4-star resort with 300 rooms, located on the seafront of Praia de Chaves, one of the best beaches on the island of Boa Vista.

With the opening of these two new establishments, Barceló continues with plans to incorporate, by the end of the year, a second hotel in Boa Vista - previously known as Hotel Marine Club Beach Resort - with a 5-star category and 160 rooms, which will be operated under the Barceló Hotels & Resorts brand.

In addition, the company also announced the construction of a new hotel project on Sal Island, specifically in the Pontão area, in the municipality of Santa Maria: an adults-only resort with a 5-star category and 260 rooms.

The investment of more than 80 million euros demonstrates Barceló's commitment to the development of tourism in Cape Verde. The company believes its new hotels and resorts will contribute to the creation of new jobs, boost the local economy and help position the country as an even more attractive tourist destination.

Barceló is also committed to working with local communities to ensure that its hotel projects are sustainable and benefit the local population. The company will implement environmentally friendly practices in its hotels and resorts and support social development initiatives in the communities where it operates.

The arrival of Barceló in Cape Verde is positive news for the country, which seeks to consolidate itself as a reference tourist destination in Africa. The company's experience and know-how, combined with Cape Verde's natural and cultural potential, create a promising scenario for the development of the hotel sector and the country's economy as a whole.

The Barceló Hotel Group is a Spanish hotel chain with more than 50 years of experience in the sector. The company operates more than 200 hotels in 22 countries, offering a wide range of accommodations and services to meet the needs of different types of customers. The Barceló Hotel Group is recognized for its excellence in customer service, sustainability and commitment to the development of the communities where it operates.
