The Boston Red Sox are teaming up with the Cape Verdean Community of New England to host a special evening celebrating Cape Verdean heritage and culture at Fenway Park on Thursday, August 29th at 7:10 p.m. This event provides a unique opportunity for fans to experience Cape Verde's vibrant culture while supporting the Red Sox.
Fans who purchase tickets through this special offer will receive a commemorative Cape Verdean Red Sox jersey, featuring unique design elements that pay homage to the country's history. The shirt features ten yellow stars on the right sleeve, representing the ten beautiful islands of Cape Verde. The left sleeve displays the national emblem of Cape Verde, and the back features a volcano symbolizing the volcanic origin of the islands.
New England has had a significant Cape Verdean population since the 18th century and the whaling industry. The communities are mainly concentrated in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
