Seventeen young people, the target audience of Brava's Employment and Employability Network, are receiving the latest training actions to prepare for their entry into the job market, in accordance with the nature of the project.

Speaking to Inforpress, the coordinator of the network's management nucleus, Mário Soares, explained that the 17 young people who make up this Project I group, which aims at the transformation, conservation and commercialization of fish, "will work in a cooperative, hence the need to impart knowledge on small business management and microenterprise financial management.

According to the same source, at the training level, these are the last training actions and after the arrival of the kits, already purchased and inspected by a network consultant, the target audience will receive training in the use of equipment and refresher training in the practical part of the transformation. of fish.

Trainer Samir Silva stressed that in the small business management module he tried to show trainees the importance of entrepreneurship and the main skills of an entrepreneur, as well as some knowledge of small business management, marketing and business plan development, among others.

In the area of financial management, he listed that he is transmitting the basic notions of investment, calculation and costs, but also the financial statement and other data that they should be aware of for the success of the unit.

The trainees, for their part, considered that these two training sessions came at a “good time”, bringing “various ideas” and plans for their future functions and, in addition, allowed valuing what they produce, mainly in terms of prices, in order to obtain the fair result.

The aforementioned training actions for the network's target audience, made up of young people from the three fishing villages, Furna, Fajã d'Água and Lomba Tantum, began on the 25th of August and ended on Friday, the 4th.

The Employment and Employability Network of Brava Island was made official by the island's municipal assembly in January 2019 and is supported by the Luxembourg Cooperation, through the Employment and Employability Program CVE/081.
