Brava: 22 young people begin training within the framework of the Rural Villages Tourism and Environmental Enhancement Project

The Employment and Professional Training Center of Fogo e Brava started today a training action aimed at 22 young people, within the scope of the Tourism and Environmental Enhancement of Rural Villages project.

Speaking to Inforpress, the director of the Employment Centre, Carlos Lopes, said that the objective is to train the beneficiaries of the Project for Tourism and Environmental Enhancement of Rural Villages, which in Brava will be in Fajã d´Água.
According to the same source, this is “a great” Government program, carried out in partnership with the city councils and I conduct training by the IEFP.

In the region, according to this official, there are a total of 90 beneficiaries, which he considered to be a “quite satisfactory” number, taking into account what is the value of the program.

“With this training, we are kicking off what are the Government's great ambitions, which is in fact to bring all the infrastructure and investments necessary for the development of these villages”, highlighted Carlos Lopes, stressing that in three months , both in Brava and Fogo, the beneficiaries will be trained and able to receive tourists and all that is investment in the tourism and environmental sector.

At the IEFP level, he indicated that it was with great satisfaction that they embraced the project, considering that this training “will develop not only the island of Brava, but also the entire region and the country itself, justifying that tourism and the environment are the two biggest themes treaties, even at the international level.

For his part, Mário Soares, councilor responsible for the area of Education, Training and Youth, stressed that this training is a part that will complement the program, justifying that when the whole issue of infrastructures and other investments are ready, it is necessary to have qualified people and prepared to “provide a service of excellence at the level of the locality and Brava as a whole”.

This course, as he said, is divided into nine modules, from basic computing, technical English and French, entrepreneurship, financial education, hygiene and safety at work, among others, a course "very well designed" that goes according to the need from the market.

Mário Soares praised the contribution of the partners involved in this training action, which will initially take place in Nova Sintra, at the Eugénio Tavares Secondary School, but which the other modules will be given in Fajã d´Água, the beneficiary village of this program in Brava.

Taking into account the way in which this course was designed, this councilor announced that the Municipality of Brava will bear the costs of transport and other necessary support so that the training can take place as planned and obtain the expected results.

The project is part of the Program - Tourism and Environmental Enhancement of Rural Villages (VTAAR), promoted by the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA), in partnership with the Municipality of Brava and it is funded by the Tourism Fund and the Environment Fund.
