Brava: Académica da Brava wants to promote young players from Brava

The Académica da Brava team intends this 2019/20 sports season to continue with its philosophy of “promoting young athletes from Brava”, its president, Edivaldo Lopes, told Inforpress today.

According to this leader, the squad is made up of 27 players because they don't want to leave anyone out, following the club's policy.

With this “stronger” squad, made up of players aged between 15 and 22 years old, Edivaldo Lopes promises to play a “different and better” season than the previous season, giving opportunity to the various talents who did not find spaces in other teams.

Especially because, he added, due to the situation on the island, they do not adopt the philosophy of other teams that hire players from other islands, also recognizing that their club does not have the conditions for that.

Regarding the non-participation of the two clubs, Benfica and Juventude, Edivaldo Lopes said he understood them, because the number of players on the island is small and if you want to build a competitive team, you have to resort to players from other islands, which requires high costs. .

For his athletes, the president of Académica asks them to “believe” because there is no age limit on the field, emphasizing that his squad has potential and can go further. “Just believe and work without fear”.

The team's first game is scheduled for this Sunday, the 15th, against Sporting, at 2:00 pm at the Aquiles D'Oliveira stadium, referring to the opening tournament.
