The Cape Verdean Association for the Fight Against Cancer (ACLCC), in partnership with health structures in the Fogo/Brava region, will promote screenings for uterine, breast and prostate cancer from 15 to 17 November in Brava and a “November Azul” march ”.
To Inforpress, the doctor Júlio Barros said that the structure is already prepared to receive the team and the registration lists for the screenings are already full.
According to him, this is a sign that day after day, people are becoming aware of the need to carry out screenings in time and the importance it has in the life of each patient.
About the schedule, the doctor said that on the 15th there will be screening in Nova Sintra, Nossa Senhora do Monte and Furna, on the 16th they will continue in the same places.
On the 17th, a “Blue November” march will be held, which according to the source, had already been carried out in the same way on Brava in 2011.
The purpose of the march is to “awaken” people's mindsets, as a way of calling their attention to prostate cancer screening and “demystifying” some myths about the test.
