During the meeting, a set of documents were presented that aim to facilitate access to financing for decentralized climate actions. These actions aim to strengthen the climate response at the local level, allowing the implementation of more effective measures tailored to the specificities of each region.
Among the projects highlighted is the pilot project being implemented in the Furna area, which aims to protect areas vulnerable to landslides caused by torrential runoff in the river. The project not only seeks to mitigate the risks related to climate change, but also to promote climate literacy, enabling the local population to face the challenges posed by climate change.
Furthermore, the resilient tourism project in Fajã d'Água, part of the Tourist Villages initiative, was discussed. This project aims to promote sustainable tourism, adapted to current and future climate conditions, reinforcing the importance of local adaptation to environmental changes.
This meeting reflects Brava's commitment to sustainability and climate action, aligning with global efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change and ensure a more resilient future for the local community.
