The science week held at Escola Secundária Eugénio Tavares (ESET) ended this Friday, with satisfaction on the part of teachers and curiosity of students to learn more about this world.

The last day of the event was dedicated to practical experiences, namely carrying out activities such as cocktail of colors, explosion of colors, magic breath, DNA extraction, mini-volcanic eruption, demonstration and construction of robots, among others.

Juliana Sanches, responsible for the Web Lab on the island, told Inforpress that the WebLab students were shown a labyrinth in which they performed two new frames and some sensor tests.

In this competition, the objective was to demonstrate to those who do not attend his classes what has been done and the "magic" of the technological world, which, as he underlined, had effects, because, the curiosities of these students, in addition to carefully observing each step, sought to find out more information and ask how to enroll in training.

For his part, chemistry teacher João Andrade also expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the students, for the commitment shown and the curiosity that this week aroused in the students, from the smallest to the oldest, he indicated.

Melissa Bango, an 11th grade student, gave a “positive assessment” of the event, taking into account the number of experiences carried out, the knowledge transmitted and shared, which often lack opportunities to learn in the rush of everyday life.

As he pointed out, of all the activities, the ones that most aroused his attention were the explosion of colors and the cocktail of colors, an opinion that was also expressed by many other students who witnessed the experience, although the youngest in the 5th and 6th grades demonstrated become “in love” with the robotics part.

Usually, according to Professor João Andrade, they usually do demonstrations, but in a more restricted way and more aimed at science students, but this year they did these activities, also opening the doors to other students and anyone else who wanted to participate in the event.
