Brava: First cycle teachers begin training in Portuguese

Portuguese language teachers in the 1st cycle started training in the area today, with a view to preparing them to work with students in the 2019/20 academic year, an action that lasts until Thursday, 19.

The trainer Manuel Reis explained that the objective is to bring knowledge of the new tools, within the scope of the Reform that the Ministry of Education has been implementing since the last academic year, and which include the new programs and the new manuals, “mainly” in Portuguese language, “and not only”, since there have been training actions in several areas.

According to him, one of the “great advantages” of training is that teachers begin to have “deeper” knowledge of new work tools, programs and manuals.

He added that the analysis and approach allow trainees to use the new tools as daily material in their work.

Education delegate Orlando Burgo, for his part, considered these actions “very important”, stressing that they are taking place at national level.

He stressed that the National Directorate of Education organized and scheduled the various training activities in various parts of the country to “improve more and more” the education and learning system.

In Brava, in particular, it advanced that a training action had already been carried out for teachers of the 1st and 2nd year of Compulsory Integrated Basic Education, in the area of Integrated Sciences.

He also highlighted that they plan to hold another training course next October for teachers of the first cycle, in Mathematics.

In other subjects, such as English, French and Physical Chemistry, he explained that teachers participated in training in Fogo and Praia, taking into account the number of teachers in these areas on the island, “does not justify” the displacement of trainers to Brava .

In the case of the first cycle, it showed that there is a “considerable” number of teachers, which justifies carrying out these actions here on the island.
