Brava: Frei Bernardino presents the book “Family Psychopedagogy – an inter-help relationship”
“Family psychopedagogy – a relationship of mutual help” is the most recent book by Friar Bernardino Viriato Lima, presented, on Wednesday, in the main hall of the Paços do Concelho on Ilha Brava.
Speaking to Inforpress, Frei Bernardino explained that this work emerged as another tool, a contribution to Cape Verdean society, communities, especially families and teachers with the aim of helping them know how to deal with the problems that the new generation is going through. .
“The book has all the necessary elements so that a person in charge of education or a teacher can work in an educational way, with their children or students”, he informed.
According to the same source, the book addresses some very pertinent themes, namely the issue of relationships between generations, therefore, according to him, there are two concepts that are fundamental in the relationships between the new and the old generation, between parents and children and between young people and adults, which are respect and love.
“The reunion with the old generation is a way of revitalizing and projecting a future generation, above all, with a feeling of gratitude”, he highlighted.
According to Friar Bernardino, who has a doctorate in Educational Sciences with a specialty in Psychopedagogy from the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome, another theme he presents in the book has to do with sexuality, which he believes is a structuring dimension of each personality.
In this sense, he highlighted that all human, social, political and professional relationships bear marks of each person's sexuality, which have nothing to do with the trends that are talked about today.
“They have to do, above all, with our style and way of being and being in the family, with the sense of balance and maturity that makes us relate to society”, he noted.
This religious also highlighted that he chose the title “Family Psychopedagogy” to instill concepts and ideas in the “minds” of new generations, but also so that educators know how to deal and relate to today's young people.
“This is my third work, after the book dedicated to Father Pio Gottin and another dedicated to the philosophy of emigration, but I am already preparing another work with a religious basis, which is a new way of rethinking and understanding the word of God” , he added.
