The American foundation Marly's Miracle already has a set of materials, equipment and toys on the island to distribute in all areas, as a way of providing a “different smile” mainly to the most needy.

Speaking to Inforpress, the founder and manager of the foundation located on the island explained that this time she wanted to combine business with pleasure.

That is, “having the opportunity to see the green island and distribute toys and other equipment, even before the Christmas season”.
In addition to children, people with mobility difficulties with crutches, wheeled carts, diapers, some bicycles, among others, will also benefit.

The founder said that they will start with deliveries next Monday, in the most distant areas and then in Vila de Nova Sintra.

However, he regrets the delays and the various challenges he had to face in the customs clearance process and the delays caused by transport, adding that these obstacles will not prevent the determination and willingness to make the distribution, even if “on his knees”, due to other schedules.

Asked about the support she received to get the materials and get them to the island, she pointed out that in the United States of America, where the foundation is based, she received support from individuals, groups and even commercial establishments.

On the island, it had the support of the city council in the cost of the customs clearance processes and with the staff of its team on site.

After delivery to Brava, he has plans to visit the island of São Vicente, to deliver school materials and then goes to Santo Antão to find out about the distribution of the materials he sent last August.

The organization emerged in 2018, after the founder visited the island of Brava, 38 years after leaving her homeland and found a visually impaired girl, something that “messed” with her interior and decided to create the foundation for support those “most in need”.
