Brava/Football: Sporting defeats Nô Pintcha (3-0) and wins the Brava Super Cup

The Sporting team won the Brava Island Super Cup today, beating Nô Pintcha 3-0 at the Aquiles Oliveira stadium, in a game that officially opened the 2019/2020 football season on the island.

At half-time, Sporting's team was already beating Nô Pintcha by 2-0, goals scored by Patrick, in the 2nd minute and in the 26th minute.
At 30 minutes, Elvis, the captain of Nô Pintcha, missed a penalty, thus losing the opportunity to reduce the difference in the result.

In the second half of the game, in the 74th minute, Sporting extended the lead to 3-0, through Roberto.

Ney Lokô, Sporting's coach, showed his satisfaction with the result and the conquest, congratulating his athletes, because, according to him, it was the first game of the season, the first victory for his team.

In fact, he reinforced, “a team that the whole of Brava was commenting on as being a weak team and made up of little boys”.

He also pointed out that they had only one week of training and had already won their first trophy of the season and the focus is on continuing to win.

The coach criticized the refereeing trio, accusing her of penalizing her team by marking fouls and yellow cards.

Asked about the expectation about the opening tournament, he said that the opening tournament is a preparation, and he will work on his squad, make some adjustments, focusing on defending the title won last season.

For his part, João Domingos, assistant coach of the Nô Pintcha team, considered the match to be “good”, adding that the team is still under construction, many players were not in the squad the previous year, but that they will work to “normalize” the situation

For the sporting season, he added that this year's Nô Pintcha will run after the title, taking into account that it has been 12 years since they managed to win it.

Next weekend, the opening games of the regional championship of Ilha Brava will be held, this year with the participation of five teams: Sporting, Nô Pintcha, Morabeza, Académica and Coroa, leaving out Juventude and Benfica.
