Brava's local Employment and Employability network has already scheduled its 7th mission, which will take place in the second week of January 2020.
The information was advanced today to Inforpress, by the coordinator of the managing nucleus of the network on the island, Mário Soares, at the end of a meeting that the group held this Thursday afternoon, with the mayor, Francisco Tavares.
This meeting, as explained by the coordinator, had the main objective of informing the mayor of the activities that were carried out in 2019, as well as presenting some information and sharing the plan of activities for 2020 and further strengthening the partnership.
According to the same source, the network currently has an average of 20 members and one of the “Achilles heels” for the network at the moment is Pró Empresa, which it considered to be a “fundamental” part in terms of employment.
He explained that the island was discovered with the transfer of Brava's technique to the island of Santo Antão, taking the opportunity to make an appeal to Pró Empresa, who, just as they were present in the creation of the network, may continue, not only in Brava, but in all the others, as it plays a “fundamental” role in the network.
He added that at this stage, in which the beneficiaries will already receive their kits, they are in need of its support, since Pró Empresa, which operated in the management of small businesses, provided guidance in terms of project preparation, and in the phase after awarding kits, where trainees need some financial support to support the project for some time.
He took the opportunity to advance some projects included in the activity plan for 2020, announcing the seventh mission that will take place in the second week of January, adding that the Employment and Training Promotion Fund will be present to publicize it on the island, raising awareness among young people and allowing them to learn about other sources of financing for professional training and at the level of small and micro companies.
For his part, the mayor from Brave recognized that the network has been working "hard", providing various training actions, noting that they have already taken the steps to enter the phase of "transformation of dreams and wills and training provided in employment".
In other words, he reinforced, “the project will enter its crucial phase, which is to move from theory to practice”.
Asked about the support given by the municipality in relation to the network, the mayor added that support is still only at the level of human resources, committing himself that in the stage of realization and creation of companies, the council will provide incentives, with exemptions from fees and municipal licenses, for a period of one year, to give young entrepreneurs opportunities to advance.
With the delivery of the kits, 13 direct jobs will be created, six in Furna, three in Fajã d´Água and four in Lomba Tantum.
The local network of Employment and Employability on the island of Brava was made official by the Municipal Assembly of the island in January 2019 and is supported by the Luxembourg Cooperation, through the Employment and Employability Program CVE/081.
