Brava: Sintap announces appointment of a representative at Brava for the month of May
The leader of the National Union of Public Administration Workers (Sintap), Maria Nova Montrond, announced today that the union will have a representative on Brava Island in May.
The same source indicated that a meeting held with workers from Brava City Council resulted in 30 Sintap members.
In this sense, he continued, a mission to the island has already been scheduled to appoint a Sintap representative, taking into account that a meeting was also held with employees of the company Agua Brava and which culminated in a “good number of partners”.
Maria Nova Montrond also reported that last year the sixth conference was held on the island of São Vicente, in which she was elected union leader and also highlighted that Sintap has become a national union for Public Administration workers.
“My mission on Brava Island is also in this context, that is, to expand our intervention to all the islands of Cape Verde. We want to present and meet the needs of all public and private workers, always defending their labor rights”, he highlighted.
This official said that after a meeting with 39 employees of the municipality, several needs were identified for these workers.
“People who do not have their rights acquired at the moment and we are working in this direction, we also noticed that they are not aware of the transition list Career, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR), which was a tool that the Government approved last month March 2023, through the new public employment law”, said the union leader.
In this situation, he stressed that the autarchy, as a decentralized service of the State and Public Administration, should have already known its transition list, however, he stated, according to information from employees, so far they have not been aware of it and do not yet have all of it. your rights.
“In 2024, through the State Budget, the minimum wage is 16,000$00 and in the Brava City Council there are people who are receiving less, so I think the law has to be put into force”, concluded Maria Nova Montrond.
