The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, foresees the delivery of a new health center to the population of Brave in two years, recalling that it is a process that must follow its legal procedures.

Ulisses Correia e Silva made this announcement during the presentation of the architectural project for the new health center to be built on Brava, emphasizing that it will make it possible to “significantly” improve the conditions for providing health services on the island.

As stated by the head of government, in addition to a modern and adequate building, the facilities will have all the medical features that are almost hospital-like, which will also allow health professionals to have better working conditions and users to have better conditions of service, thus increasing the quality of service.

The Prime Minister exemplified with the other health centers that the Government has already built, indicating the one in Santa Maria on the island of Sal, the other in Assomada, or even in São Lourenço dos Órgãos, announcing that the one in Brava will be identical, stressing that this will be framed within its architectural policy and with the colors as required by the Posture Code of the Municipality of Brava.

This new Health Center “will allow the island to have one more element of security in the provision of health, in the guarantee of having quality services close by, thus reducing the asymmetries of access to health, which guarantees to place Brava on another level” , listed the chief executive, confident that the Government “has taken another very important step for the future of the island”.

This project will be financed by Luxembourgish cooperation in partnership with the Government, where the project has already been approved and now the tender will be launched and the execution part which, as it has advanced, believes that within two years it will be in a position to deliver a new building to the bravens.

On this issue, the mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, demonstrated his satisfaction with the project, stressing that it is an added value for the future and development of Brava.

“It is not just a health center, but almost a smaller hospital, thus responding to the great expectations of the people of Brave here on the island, and of emigrants, who want to feel more secure in the health care system”, said the mayor, adding the possibility that with the materialization of the project there will be more emigrants looking for their home island for their holidays and even to live after retirement.

For the population of Brava, the implementation of this project will constitute “a great gain” not only for Brava, but for the whole country, as with a new health center with all these valences, it will allow for more consultations and specialty exams in the area. island, as well as ensuring better care, thus avoiding travel to the island of Fogo or Praia, which always entails higher costs.

According to the public presentation made at the city hall, the new building will have two floors, and will bring some innovations such as an operating room, a room for minor surgeries, a morgue, a physiotherapy room, stomatology, a multipurpose room, among other compartments, in addition to the that already work on the island, although with other improvements and valences.
