The island of Brava hosts, on the 5th and 6th of this month, the regional youth forum in the Fogo e Brava region on “Local development through the eyes of young people, enhancing tourism”, with the participation of several national specialists.

This initiative, according to a press release, aims to be a space for discussion and sharing of ideas on innovative strategies and sustainable practices for the development of the tourism sector in the region.

According to the organization, in the initial panel, entitled “New Strategies for Sustainable Tourism,” experts will share “insights” and innovative practices aimed at the sustainable development of tourism in the Fogo e Brava region.

The initial panel will address existing initiatives, challenges faced and results achieved so far, by Francisco Martins, from the Instituto do Turismo de Cabo Verde, and best practices for sustainable tourism by Luísa Jorgensen, from Zebra Travel, in addition to João da Luz , which will present new strategies, creative approaches and examples of successes in promoting environmental, social and economic sustainability in the tourism sector.

This Regional Youth Forum, as stated in the document, is a unique opportunity to bring together young entrepreneurs, local authorities, tourism experts and community leaders, to explore ways to boost sustainable tourism in this region.

The opening ceremony of this forum will be chaired by the president of the Institute of Sports and Youth, José Eduardo dos Santos, and by the mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares.

It should be noted that this event is organized by the Government of Cape Verde through the Institute of Sports and Youth and takes place, from 8:30 am, at the Eugénio Tavares secondary school, on the island of Brava.
