The two groups of women belonging to the Círculo de Cultura on the island of Brava met today in Braga, promoting a range of activities to celebrate Mother's Day in advance.
This information was provided to Inforpress by the coordinator of Basic Education for Young People and Adults, Paulina Delgado, explaining that this activity brought together about 24 women who attend this Circle, which aims to empower these women from Mato and Braga, the two communities who participate in the Circle.
According to the same source, this activity is part of the activity plan and was carried out in advance because next week, women from the Braga community will be involved in Santa Cruz activities, thus making it difficult for these women to participate in the celebrations of the Day. da Mãe, celebrated on the first Sunday of May.
For the coordinator, these activities are of “extreme importance”, as they all discuss social issues and the celebration of some commemorative dates in order to take women out of their daily routine, but also to keep them always informed and updated.
In addition to recreational and recreational activities, the coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Team to Support Inclusive Education (EMAEI), Edoneia Teixeira, led an open conversation on “The role of the Mother in Society”, where she focused on the role and function of the mother, their importance in the education of their children, with the aim of “enhancing the true meaning of being a mother”.
On the part of the women, Domingas da Veiga, from Círculo de Braga, demonstrated her satisfaction in meeting with the women of Mato, a moment that served not only for fraternization, but also for sharing information, exchanging ideas and for some clarifications .
On the subject presented, he considered that it was “very important” taking into account the different situations that women face in society, mainly in the education and raising of children.
For her part, Guilhermina Borges, from Círculo de Mato, praised and thanked the organization, stressing that the activity served to unite women from two distant communities, where they spoke of the roles they have in society, in the family and the “weight” they carry the back.
Finally, this woman who has already been participating in the Culture Circle for several years left an appeal to other women, asking them to create or get together in order to have a Circle in other areas, or to participate in those that have already been formed.
She recalled that women “cannot and should not stay at home alone, as they have to have moments of conviviality and leisure”.
In this Circle, women of different ages participate and say they feel “useful” and with broader horizons.
