Speaking to Inforpress, last May, this 32-year-old young man demonstrated his main difficulties, mainly in locomotion and the lack of a fridge to be able to store his product.

Today, he saw his dream come true when he received from the director of the Center for Employment and Vocational Training (CEFPF) in the Fogo e Brava region, Carlos Lopes, the key to the vehicle and a refrigerated chest from the City Council of Brava.

According to this entrepreneur, there are no words to thank for such a gesture, explaining that this mobilization came from the councilor responsible for the area of Education, Training and Youth of the City Council of Brava, Mário Soares, who put him in contact with the deputy prime minister of Cape Verde and the Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, and in close collaboration with the director of CEFPF in the region, the general director of employment, ensured that this vehicle was delivered today.

The same source added that it will not only use it to sell fish and vegetables, but to support the population of Brave in any sector that is within its reach, from deliveries of purchases, butane gas, among other needs, justifying that this vehicle is to serve Brava.

From the city council he received a freezer, which will allow him to preserve his product and offer customers a quality product.

He asks young people to be proactive, not to wait only for the Government, because all decent work is work, justifying that by showing goodwill and walking with your own feet, it is possible to find support and incentives, and the secret is to persist, even in the face of difficulties and negative messages that often arise.

For his part, Carlos Lopes, director of CEFPF in the region, said that as soon as they became aware of the young man's "potential", they mobilized the sectors and the necessary means to deliver the vehicle, considering him to be a "deserving young man". of such a gesture, taking into account your initiative and the desire you have shown to develop your business.

However, he explained that the delivery of this kit took place in a different way, as it is normally necessary for young people to first attend training on GIN (generating business ideas) and PIN (planning and starting a business), and after presenting the plans of business, if feasible, kits will be delivered to beneficiaries.

But, in this case, he informed that the deputy prime minister himself saw fit to make this delivery earlier, taking into account the experience he already has in the market and the willingness to work in what he chose, to also avoid some bureaucracy during the process .

With this delivery, the young man started his PIN training today, which will support him in terms of content to continue with his business.

Finally, Carlos Lopes asked the locals to support him and help him develop the project and make his dream come true.

On the part of the city council, councilor Mário Soares, who served as an intermediary from the beginning, began by thanking the entrepreneurial initiative of the young man himself, hoping that he will be an example for other young people on the island.

“Taking into account its proactivity, from the beginning the city council made contact with institutions at government level to create all the conditions in order to support young people in their fish sales”, highlighted this official, stressing that his project will much more than selling fish.

The same source stressed that the initiative deserved, from the beginning, the attention of the Minister of Finance, in conjunction with the Directorate General for Employment and the IEFP and CEFPF in the region, who worked intensely along the way so that today the delivery could be made , and the city council took the opportunity to deliver a refrigerated chest, thus allowing it to have equipment for preserving fish.

This, according to the councilor, is a way of showing young people and the community in general that, as long as there is proactivity, interest and initiatives, the city council, in conjunction with the Government, are always attentive and engaged in supporting initiatives of the type, as long as there is a commitment.
