Brava/Autárquicas 2020: Edil says PAICV is disoriented and wants to divert attention from the electorate with the complaints

The mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, today considered the denunciations of the PAICV (opposition) “unfounded”, claiming that they are doing this to “divert the attention of the electorate and the people of Brava”.

In response to complaints from the PAICV Regional Political Commission, Francisco Tavares told Inforpress that he had already responded to the National Election Commission (CNE), stressing that regarding the use of vehicles, the person responsible for the Municipal Service of Civil Protection and Firefighters is authorized to circulate in these vehicles, because the staff work late and, in addition, live in distant and dispersed areas from each other.

About the accident, Francisco Tavares said that it was with the vehicle made available to the councilors and what was in the vehicle when the incident occurred, he has already tried to fix it and rehabilitate the wall that broke down during the incident.

On the issue of municipal works, he said that the PAICV is aware that the city council has works in Furna, Cova Rodela, repair and maintenance works on municipal roads, which is a permanent job, among other interventions that it has been doing and saying that there are no works in progress seems to him “something very unintelligent”.

“The shipment of 1000 bags of cement referred to by the PAICV was to respond to many requests for support for housing, minimizing the effects of rain on some houses with weak roofs”, justified the mayor, adding that everything was done in accordance with the municipality's activity plan for 2020 and carried out within the legal period for this purpose.

Francisco Tavares reiterated that the PAICV knows and knows all the works and projects that are in progress, guaranteeing that until the last day that the law allows it, it will carry out the functions of the mayor.

“I will not deviate from the focus, which is to serve citizens with public works and works for needy families”, the mayor made clear.
