Brava: Court sentences individual to 13 years in jail for the crime of sexual abuse of a minor

The Court of the Comarca da Brava sentenced on Monday, 20, a man aged 40 to 13 years and ten months in prison for committing a crime of sexual abuse against a 4-year-old child.

The case took place on October 21, 2022, when the Public Prosecutor's Office applied pre-trial detention to the defendant as a coercive measure, having waited until the trial and the reading of the sentence in the Civil Prison of Ilha do Fogo.

On Monday he was sentenced to prison and compensation of 300,000 escudos.

According to a judicial source, the alleged aggressor was the victim's stepfather and had already been convicted at least twice for crime and sexual assault of minors.

The victim is the same one who was abused in May 2022, by a 72-year-old individual, who was sentenced in November last year to a sentence of ten years in prison and compensation of 300,000 escudos to the victim, according to with the sentence.
