Brava: Delegate of Education praises results of actions carried out in the 2022/23 school year
The delegate for Education at Brava, Vergílio Lopes, today made a “positive assessment” of the results obtained from the actions carried out and the operation of transport and the school canteen in the 2022/23 school year.
In balance, in statements to Inforpress, the delegate, who was appointed throughout this academic year ended, considered that the year "went well", taking into account the difficulties encountered, emphasizing that this academic year this delegation worked with two delegates , the outgoing one, Orlando Burgo, and the current one, Vergílio Lopes, appointed during the academic year.
According to this person in charge, these are aspects that always pose some difficulty in terms of management, but which were overcome, leading to the transition occurring normally.
As for the balance, he says that "it is positive" in terms of results, informing that at the level of the municipality, there were close to 80 percent (%) of positive results, more specifically 77%, a result that he considers to be satisfactory, although he reinforced that one must always work to achieve what is the final objective, which is to achieve levels of excellence at a general level.
Vergílio Lopes showed that the base has been built, the path ahead and objectives are well traced, so that education in Brava can be at a level of excellence, where it has always been.
Of these 77%, in the Nova Sintra Educational Complex, Compulsory Basic Education (EBO) had a rate of 81% passing, 14.7% failing and 4.1% dropping out of school, while Secondary Education had 70, 1% of those approved, against 28.8% of those who failed, while the Escola Básica de Nossa Senhora do Monte, where only the EBO works, had a pass rate of 75.8%, 22.3% of those who failed and 1.9% of abandonment.
Still within the balance, he underlined that in order to obtain positive results some aspects and sectors must be working perfectly, namely transport and the school canteen, considering that these two sectors, if they do not work well, interfere with their own performance and final result, remembering that there are students from Cachaço, Lomba Tantum, Palhal, Mato Grande, Furna, more distant areas, who travel to attend classes in the city of Nova Sintra during the school year.
On the issue of transport, he showed that it worked normally and smoothly, under the supervision of the Municipality of Brava, under the co-guidance and coordination of the Social Action and School Health of the delegation and on the part of Ficase, the delegation was able to guarantee a hot meal in all schools, which according to the delegate mainly provides for children who sometimes face some difficulties in being able to have a hot meal daily at school, hoping that next year these sectors will continue to function perfectly and with more partners for a better result.
Another aspect that he highlighted and that he considers important in the education sector is the participation of parents and guardians, noting that for any result, three pillars must be put into action, the school, teachers and parents, because if the family fails become lame and hence there will be some difficulty in achieving the good results.
In the academic year just ended, he recognized that there was engagement on the part of some families, but says he is aware that more awareness is still needed in parents about the importance of education, involvement and participation of the same in the school life of each student and this work to have more effect, he says that it is necessary that those who are already engaged continue in this process in order to transmit this energy to others who are still far away.
