Brava: MAA delegate guarantees that they are working to restore the normal functioning of the cable car in Lomba

The delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) in Brava, Ermelindo Barros, announced today that they are working to restore the normal functioning of the cable car in Lomba Tantum.

Speaking to the press, this official reacted to the communiqué in which the residents of the locality demanded a certain speed in repairing a fault in the cable car in the locality, reinforcing that its inactivity causes several constraints.

In this sense, Ermelindo Barros explained that they became aware of this fault in the week of 12 June and immediately called a mechanic and three assistants to analyze the situation, having found that it was a massive shaft that had burned.

Upon detecting the fault, he noted that it took about three weeks to remove the shaft and 750 meters of cable at the beginning and end of the cable car, in order to maintain and guarantee the safety of workers and users.

However, he showed that to make the vein it has to be on the island of Fogo or in the city of Praia, because in Brava there are no conditions to make an equal replica, which caused a little more delay.

From there, he took the opportunity to reassure the community, announcing that as soon as the shaft is made, it will be replaced and in two days at the most the cable car will be in operation.

“I am aware that the cable car is a very important service instrument in the comfort and handling of fish by the fishermen and fishmongers and people of Lomba and even why they are going to buy fish in the area”, he stressed, highlighting that they are doing everything to replace the normality of it.

This person in charge took the opportunity to inform that they have been maintaining the device frequently, stressing that of the last three maintenance and replacement of parts recently carried out, the budget was around 237 contos, not to mention that some parts that are not found in the country have to be imported from Portugal, thus taking more idle time.
