Brava's Education delegate today asked teachers, parents, guardians and the entire educational community to become increasingly involved in the “transcendent mission” of educating and teaching children.
Orlando Burgo made this appeal at the official opening of the 2019/2020 school year, stressing that the “essential of educational success” in the municipality is not in the infrastructure and its training offers, but in the motivation of educational agents and their boldness .
According to the official, this year the educational system continues the process of implementing the policy measures defined by the Government Program of the IX Legislature for pre-school, basic and secondary education and adult education, for the development of the local educational sector and national.
For Orlando Burgo, these measures "materialize" the commitments assumed in the creation of "indispensable" conditions, so that in a context of educational inclusion, all children and adolescents in the country have opportunities to develop polyvalent skills, essential for the evolution of critical thinking, of communication among other requirements to adapt to the changes that contemporaneity requires.
In this academic year that has just begun, the island aims for an attendance of 1,624 students, 208 in pre-school, 1,099 in basic education and 317 in secondary education, who will be “accompanied” by 60 teachers in basic education and 29 in secondary education.
Taking into account the motto of the 2019/2020 school year “Towards a quality education, without leaving anyone behind” and as the central theme “Promotion and protection of the rights of children and adolescents”, Orlando Burgo said that in the municipality, for the its materialization, it is necessary to program concrete actions.
These actions, he added, should be carried out in partnership with the institutional and social actors operating in the area, which include training teachers, actions with families and communities, actions with children and adolescents, among others.
He also stressed that this academic year, the implementation of the curricular matrix in the 3rd and 7th years continues, in a year that is “also marked” by the “strengthening” of the execution of actions aimed at eradicating exclusionary educational factors and by the reinforcement of the use of technologies of information and communication.
