Brava: Education Delegation and teachers finalize preparations to receive 1365 students in the 2019/2020 academic year

The Education delegate at Brava, Orlando Burgo, assured today that his team is finalizing preparations to start the 2019/2020 academic year, with 1,365 students, “with strength and in the best possible way”.

Orlando Burgo gave this guarantee in an interview with Inforpress, explaining that the numbers are still provisional, since some students can still enroll in the first week of classes starting.

However, he specified, according to available data, the Educational Complex of Nova Sintra (CENS) already has 947 students and the Basic School of Nossa Senhora do Monte (EBNSM) with 418.

Regarding the preparation, he added that activities for the opening of the school year have been underway, since the 3rd, with invitations to some individuals to participate in the debate on the theme “Policies for the protection of children, young people and adolescents in schools, main challenges and measures", and also took the opportunity to present the campaign "More prevention, less improvisation".

Basic education teachers last week received training in Integrated Sciences, taught by technicians from Cidade da Praia, and today began another training course for teachers of the first cycle in the area of the Portuguese language.

In the teaching class, he stressed that the island is registering a “slight decrease”, adding that this year nine teachers were transferred and are waiting for their replacements.

This Friday, the 20th, the official opening of the academic year will take place in the auditorium of Escola Secundária Eugénio Tavares, where the entire educational community and parents and guardians are expected to be present.
