Armindo António da Graça, who is visiting the island, made these statements to the media, on the sidelines of the delivery of a vehicle to the local detachment, which took place this Saturday, in the town of Furna, in the presence of the municipal secretary, João Paulo Silva .

“The purpose of my visit to Brava Island is to check on site the conditions in which the detachment personnel are in, and also to deliver a vehicle that will provide better conditions for the soldiers, because a moralized soldier fulfills his missions better”, highlighted.

According to this official, the Coast Guard detachment on the island was already able to respond, thanks to the hard work that had been done by the municipal council so far, and he stated that he hoped to still count on the municipality to better respond to eventualities.

“It is clear that the response capacity will improve even further, because the transport of patients has to be as quick as possible and if we don't have our vehicle and our driver we have to wait, but by the way, having our driver and Our vehicle will respond even faster”, he stressed.

António da Graça, makes a positive assessment of this first year of the Coast Guard deployment in the municipality, because the group has already carried out several successful patient transports to the island of Fogo, in addition to other missions carried out, namely patrolling, inspection of fishing, maritime interdiction mission, among others.

In turn, the municipal secretary, João Paulo Silva, considered it an honor to have the Coast Guard commander in Brava and praised the work that the garrison has been doing in the municipality throughout this time.

“We are satisfied and I believe that the population of Brava in general is too. These soldiers have done a lot to better respond when transporting patients to Fogo, thus avoiding risky situations and more”, he highlighted.

João Paulo Silva concluded by congratulating the commander's action in providing his own vehicle for the island's detachment and stated that he was “very satisfied” as a citizen and politician.
