Brava: Dozens of Teachers participated in the silent march for better working conditions
Dozens of teachers from different levels of education in Brava took to the streets today in a peaceful demonstration, demanding that the Ministry of Education resolve the pending issues and “more dignity for the class”.
The peaceful demonstration, carried out with the support of the Teachers' Unions, took its starting point at Praça Eugénio Tavares, in Nova Sintra, traveling through the main streets of the city and then positioning itself in front of the School Delegation.
Teachers from different educational centers and levels of education paraded to the area where the Delegation of the Ministry of Education is located, in a silent march, but holding posters with different messages appealing to the Government.
Speaking to the media, the teachers' representative, Carlinhos Martins, said that this peaceful demonstration aims to “draw the attention” of the ME and show the discontent of the class that needs many “readjustments”.
“We are demanding several factors, namely, allowance for not reducing working hours, salary adjustment, among others, however we also demand the respect and dignity that the class deserves”, he stated.
In this situation, this representative also reinforced that in several entities the problems of their employees are being resolved, however, the teacher, who is the “mother class” of other professions, is being “ignored” and that the class does not even have career progression. right.
In turn, the representative of the Democratic Teachers Union (Sindprof-Brava), Edoneia Teixeira, considers that the demonstration is necessary and called for teachers to unite, regardless of the unions in which they are affiliated.
“Teachers are the ones who have to join forces, because the problems belong to the teaching class and unity is strength, they have to come together to see it happen”, he concluded.
