Brava: Edil highlights gains from Vila de Nossa Senhora do Monte with a focus on urban requalification

The mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, highlighted today the various gains with the elevation of Nossa Senhora do Monte to the category of Village, highlighting urban requalification, education, sport, among other areas.

Francisco Tavares spoke to Inforpress, on the occasion of the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the elevation of Nossa Senhora do Monte to the category of Village, which is celebrated on the 15th of August, having listed on the occasion, the gains already obtained and the challenges that lie ahead.

According to the mayor, the gains for Vila de Nossa Senhora do Monte since 15 August 2015 are more visible in terms of urban requalification, interventions in terms of accessibilities and streets, with the city council, with the support of the Government, carrying out interventions in the center of the village, with the construction of streets, and other interventions to improve the housing of needy families.

The mayor also spoke of interventions in surrounding areas and other towns, namely in Mato with the refurbishment of the Kindergarten, the transformation of the sports plaque into a multipurpose one, the construction of a small square and street layout in this area.

He also pointed out the street layout in Chã de Sousa, and the “profound transformation” of the locality of Lomba.

Francisco tavares highlighted the works to transform the multipurpose building of Nossa Senhora do Monte into a Cultural Sports Complex, with spaces for various services and in the sports area, with the total requalification of the multipurpose area with a synthetic acrylic floor and night lighting.

He also reinforced that the village gains its first square in the area in front of the multipurpose park, stressing that it is still the possible square and that the municipality idealizes a square with the dimensions and dignity of the square in the parish of São João for the center of the parish. Baptist.

However, he justified that during the eight years of his term, it was “impossible” due to the lack of financial partnership for this in the first term and now due to the lack of availability of land with those dimensions for the purchase or transfer by third parties in the the most central area of Nossa Senhora do Monte.

The mayor also spoke of the partnership between the city council and the National Police which, as a result, led to the installation of a Police Service Post in the Village, adding that he is working to have some banking unit set up an ATM in the Complex.

In the area of education, he underlined that the council invested in a new bus, to serve students from Nossa Senhora do Monte to travel to the high school in Nova Sintra at no cost to parents, as well as an increase in the number of subsidies for scholarships for students from this parish studying at universities and professional technical schools in the country.

According to Francisco Tavares, it is a “continuous process”, adding that they are still not satisfied, having other projects in their portfolio, highlighting the project for the Nova Sintra – Nossa Senhora do Monte road, the expansion of the Educational Complex of Nossa Senhora do Monte, among others. interventions.
