Brava/Adult Education: Coordination intends to continue the awareness process and open more literacy classes

The coordinator of Basic Education for Youth and Adults (EJA), Paulina Delgado, said today that she will continue the process of raising awareness among adults to open more literacy classes in the next school year.

Paulina Delgada spoke to Inforpress in an evaluation mode of the class of 14 students of the 1st year that managed to open in the locality of Lomba, in this academic year, she highlighted that the interest was shown by the community itself during the awareness actions and the EJA coordination worked on the sense of carrying out this process.

According to this official, there had not been adult literacy classes on Brava for some years and this year, opening a class "in a somewhat complicated community" due to the economic activity in which it is dedicated, fishing and the sale of fish, was considered a “victory” and a light that it is possible to open in other locations.

Therefore, it showed that the coordination is working in a “dedicated” way in the awareness process even in this community for the opening of new classes, but also in other areas of the island, as long as they find a number of interested parties that meet the indications of the Board of EJA.

In the class operating in Palhal, Paulina Delgado informed that the process is going well, making a “positive assessment”, justifying that what motivates adults is the “need to learn to be able to guide their children in the daily activities of the school, but also the will to learn to read and write, as well as the need to learn the minimum that will allow them to do the math in their professional activities”.

The opening hours are from 19:00 to 21:00, a proposal also presented by the participants who saw in this schedule the “possibility of reconciling their daily activities and the learning process”.

A very positive assessment, the message was passed, leaving the comfort zone and leaving home to attend school, bearing in mind that this is a “quite difficult” community because the economic activity they are dedicated to is fishing and fishing. fish trade.
