This activity, which took place in the auditorium of the school, was part of the celebration of National Defense Day which takes place on the 6th of November, organized by the Ministry of National Defense, which has sought to extend the celebrations of this day, in order to instill in the living forces of society and in citizens the role and importance of their participation in defense issues.

Speaking to the media, the deputy corporal of the detachment in Brava, Manuel Brito, informed that the objective of this activity is to inform young people in relation to national defense and he guaranteed that the message was very well transmitted.

“We saw that the students enjoyed the lecture, it was an open conversation where they asked their questions and provided clarifications. I think we helped to clarify several doubts, since those who are selected are at the age close to military inspection or provision of military service”, he highlighted.

The students present also received information about military recruitment, as well as explanations about this process.

The speaker also highlighted that on November 6th it was a year since the Coast Guard detachment in Brava began working on transporting patients and monitoring fishing around the island.

“In this year of work, we are doing a positive service and people have been recognizing our work and this motivates us to always do our best”, he declared.

In turn, student Danielson de Pina said that the lecture was “interesting” and that he learned a lot of information that he was not aware of about national defense and military services.
