Brava: Feast of Nossa Senhora da Graça without cultural activities and musical show – mayor

Speaking to Inforpress, the mayor explained that this feast celebrated on August 15, which in Brava is commemorated with the title of Nossa Senhora do Monte for Catholics, also coincides with the 8th anniversary of the elevation of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte to the village category.

But, he maintained that this year there will be no cultural activities or a musical show, justifying that the municipality was not contacted by any group or individual who showed interest in organizing these activities and the council to enter as a partner for their realization.

Meanwhile, he informed that sports activities are taking place in Nossa Senhora do Monte, organized by a group of people from this parish and with the support of some sports enthusiasts from the city of Nova Sintra.

Likewise, Francisco Tavares stressed that religious activities will also be carried out, with the support of the municipality in various aspects.

On the situation of the day going by without a blank in terms of cultural activities and the musical show, he showed that as mayor he has verified with some concern that the youth of Nossa Senhora do Monte “is not getting very involved in the preparation and organization of activities”, a a situation that, according to him, should be reconsidered.

The intention of the council, as announced, is after the feast day, to organize a meeting with the community in general to talk and outline what can really be done together to reverse this situation, justifying that Nossa Senhora do Monte was once a town with a lot of dynamism of the local youth, in the promotion of sporting and cultural activities, but that after the investment in the multipurpose facility this other part is missing.
