Most of the fishermen and boat owners in Brava today made their boats available to the Catholic community and all the faithful who believe in the power of the patron saint of this locality.

José António, one of the fishermen in the village, said, in statements to Inforpress, that "this is already a tradition and everyone gathers for the procession of Our Lady in this bay, with joy and love in their hearts".

He also said that the saint left the church around nine o'clock in the morning, where they made a procession to the fish beach, put her in a boat that went to sink at the tip of Cadjetinha.

The boat was sunk until around three o'clock, when people from all over the island arrived to accompany Our Lady in the maritime procession and all the fishing boats accompanied the boat that took the saint, the priest and the people who went to pray and sing.

On the pier, other faithful remained to pray the rosary and the boats took a few laps in the bay of Furna, then returned to the pier where four boys, dressed in blue, took the saint, and followed in procession together with the faithful and the priests present from the pier until the church, where the Eucharistic celebration took place.

“It's not because of itself that Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes is the patron saint of the area, because all the men of the sea in this area and I believe in other areas too, when preparing to go to work, the first thing they do is ask for the protection of the patron saint”, he indicated, stressing that the faith they place in her is always greater than the storms they often face in the middle of the sea.

Right after the religious rituals there was 'eat and drink' served to all who were in the area.
