Brava: MAA delegation organizes ecological walk to mark the International Day of Forests and Trees

The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) on the island of Brava, will carry out this Tuesday, an ecological walk to mark the International Day of Forests and Trees.
In a press release sent to Inforpress, it is explained that this walk along the city of Nova Sintra – Cova Galinha route is part of a set of activities that the delegation is organizing with the intention of making people aware of the importance that biomes have forests have to sustain life across the planet.
This particular walk will be attended by specialists in nature conservation and aims to safeguard the biodiversity of this region,
According to the same source, “forests are vital to sustain life on earth”, in addition to being responsible for maintaining most of the earth's water resources and harboring most of the biodiversity, including fauna and flora.
The program includes a lecture in the area and a tree planting activity on site.
In 2012, the United Nations Assembly declared this day (March 21) as the International Day of Forests, with the aim of celebrating and raising awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
